Why wont my mom let me have any friends?

She is scared to let you out into this world of friends. She thinks that she can protect you if she is guarding you from friends that could influence you into mischief. I know I was one of those mother's. What she doesn't understand is she is hurting you then helping you. My daughter went wild at age 15 when I finally did let her go out into a group of friends. She finished school barley, but ran away and got married at age 18 fresh out of high school. She had a full scholorship top college and gave it all up. She is now divoriced with 3 kids and working two jobs. I wish I would have gave her more freedom. Yourt mother knows how she was when she was young and she did make mistakes, She just does not want you to make those same mistakes. This is why she is the way she is. No matter if you found a friend that was a dedicated christian your mother will find something wrong with her. My mother use to say "If you look long enough you will find something". She also said "Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you what yous are". Sit down and talk to your mother. Explain to her that she is going to have to let you have some kind of friends. Friends are important. Then tell her that if she is worried about you making mistakes to help you out and explain herself about whats out here in this world that she is so scared that you are going to do. Good Luck.
