How do they keep building the International Space Station when it moves so fast?

Speed in space is relative. Two objects could be going 10,000 miles per second relative to earth, but if they matched speeds with each other, they would be motionless relative to each other. In other words, there is no air in space to create the illusion of an absolute standard for speed.
