Is it right to make him chase after me?

So theres this guy who I'm seeing..we're not a couple, but we've liked eachother for a while. Its been a cat and mouse situation for a few months, and I've played the game. We have both gotten to the point of confessing our feelings, and going on dates and kissing and things like that. I am a super busy girl, so I dont always reply to his texts super fast..sometimes not at all if i'm feeling like I dont want to bore him with pointless text conversation. I always wait for him to message me first, but sometimes to surprise him i'll send him a cute message out of the blue. Will this push him away, or keep him wanting more?
