Do puppies act funny after you get them vaccinations? ?

Today my husband and I took our dachshund puppy to the vet to get his parvo vaccination and a dewormer. He was very sleepy afterwards so we laid him down in his bed and we laid down for a nap ourselves. About an hour later we woke up and went to check on him. He was acting very skiddish and scared of us, and when my husband went to pick him up he yelped very loudly like just touching him hurt. We figured he was sore from his shots and tried to be careful with him. After a few hours went by he seemed back to his normal self, he was running around and chasing us and playing tug of war with his toys, and then all of a sudden he dropped his toy and ran into the extra bedroom we have all his stuff that in. I figured he went to relieve himself, but he didn't come back, so I went to check on him and he was just laying in his kennel looking very sad and like he was in pain. We tried coaxing him out and petting him but he just continued to lay there and look upset. Does anybody new know what could be wrong with my baby? I am very worried and the vet is closed already.
